Evocative

beautiful post. evocative indeed.
I live on the border you refer to. Mayhap she came by this way. No doubt 'twas my sea that marked her face. The words you write make the evocation of her journey clear, and for this clarity I thank you.
Moving, Aubrey.

I really like how you wrote about this. Thank you!

She traveled along the River Ken, crossed the Dee and rested at a point that is now called Queen's Hill. (Like many heroes and victims, everything that she touched, wore, traveled by, slept in, is jealously and proudly commemorated...deservedly so or not!)

Isn't it exciting to think that it is your country that she rode through? Sidewalks, cities, houses, fields can't cover the imprints of those owls!

I like how you describe the word.
Dee, hmm then I think it was the opposite coast. But that's a stone's throw for you folk who live in big countries.

So much of Mary continues to capture the imagination long after her death. You've invoked her!
it is beautiful, evocative prose.

Lovely.
[c’est top]
"been three nights like the owls" is for you
what "never bring the dawn" is for me--more evocative language
from Ted Berrigan's The Sonnets... Nicely written, Aubrey.

Evocative is also one of my favorite words.....

History lives.

Beautifully evocative post.
