Coasting Along The Coast

Sounds like a lovely weekend...except maybe for the Double Shot, yikes!

I especially liked this part:

If you miss, well, you're still throwing metal objects at a clown, so it's a win-win situation.

heeeeheee!

How wonderful! I can feel the warm ocean breeze through my hair!

I'm so glad you had fun! The jelly fish pic is the tops!

I want to get away for a short while, it would be so nice!
It looks like you had a lovely time!
What a great, fun weekend, Aubrey. I hesitate to say this but...I would love to taste a deep-fried Twinkie!

Thank you, Aubrey, for sharing another wonderful adventure! One more reason to wish I was anywhere but here :)

The Double-Shot has been added since my last trip. Looking forward to that.
The Giant Dipper? TOTALLY worth spinal fusion!

I like to mentally prep for Santa Cruz by watching "Harold & Maude" and "the Lost Boys".

Next time, I recommend adding a drive up to Big Basin - stay for a ranger campfire. Maybe a stop & ride at the Roaring Camp trains. Take the way back into Santa Cruz that takes you past the cool/old cemetery. And have a BIG scoop of ice cream at Marianne's.

Don't forget the Santa Cruz Mystery Spot!

What a lovely trip!

a fabulous write-up of a fabulous area!
Looks like you had a fabuous time. I'd try the twinkie, too.
Seconding the roaring camp train rides.
And the octopus is a great stop in the aquarium.

The octopus was sleeping when we were there - but I think it was dreaming, as I saw its tentacles curl a bit as it slept.

And the train ride was out - it would have been nice, too: it must have been 80 degrees on the beach, and I yearned for those cooling trees.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful trip. I visited the Santa Cruz boardwalk back in 1993. I'll have to go back and give it another look.

Sorry you didn't see the entire butterfly parade, now you'll just have to go back!

Are you wearing JEANS? Honestly, it shocks me. But of course the Custo brings it all into line. ;)
