Thank you for sharing Chicago, Aubrey.
I've enjoyed reading your Chicago posts. I lived there once and seeing all the pictures makes me want to go back for a visit. I think I'd stay away from the lox, though.

I love the way you described the buildings as sepia-stained. I've never been to Chicago, and am wondering why not.

You're making me wish I had planned a trip to Chicago this summer. It is a wonderful city, one of the most livable in the U.S. I miss living there.

The Beardsley drawings are rarely on display at the AI. I don't know why, but I was told that you can request to view them by appointment. It helps if you have some sort of academic credentials: curators are snotty that way.

Why isn't this showing up in the Squee group?

I forget where I just saw a red-winged blackbird...maybe in CA recently?

I'm sorry I wasn't able to say bon voyage to you! You are a delightful traveling companion. Looking forward to more adventures!

I love Chicago. Even more now. I always went for the ethnics. Raw goat at Mama Destas. Palmer House was lovely. I am glad you all had a great time. Did I say raw goat?
I do still have a photo that shows your unicorn jammies very well. It's still in the vault, though.
I enjoyed the jaunty jaunt into Chicago through your eyes. And that, my friend, is likely as close to Chicago as I'll ever get.

Well, there is just nothing like Chicago. The food there is good!

Filigree is very special. Love the photo. Also love your description - makes me want to visit!

Man, I have been so bad lately about reading posts and not having time to comment. Great post! We really needed more than two and a half days. The art museum sounded great, but holy smokes, I think I only covered 1/10th of the Field Museum on Sunday. I don't feel like I have Chicago out of my system yet, I'm itchy for another trip already.

Fabulous recap! You missed the epic meltdown that occurred about five minutes after our shuttle dropped me off at my terminal, when I realized I had missed the last flight to Canada that night.
