A Toes-t!

A flattering gesture, no doubt. It would take a Lot of admiration, [and/or drunkenness] to drink out of somebody's shoe. I hope your shoe survived.

The post set me thinking about America. I still find the country and its people loud and wild. I like that. It is more real, more honest, in some way..

Wonderful post.

More interesting-ness - thank you! I will say I'd be extremely annoyed if some alcohol sodden fool ruined my shoes, regardless of the intended gesture. It would seem I am not of the romantic persuasion.

Great post. My Mother had told me some of this. I don't want anyone drinking from my shoe. lol

Too funny... Did your shoe survive? Nothing like squishy toes for the rest of the evening to keep a girl happy, huh?

Interesting story about the first shoe-toasting.
Eleven whiskey sours! (holds hand to mouth, turning green) I, too, worry about the survival of the shoe. Great story, though!

I love your writing style.

So, in essense, it was a double insult. Not only did he ruin your shoe, but he was essentially calling you a prostitute. Lovely.

Though I cringe at the thought of drinking out of anybody's shoe myself, I think I would be flattered if some adorable hunk drank out of my shoe... as always, a great post!

You always post the most interesting ...posts. Ahh, nice gesture, but with the price of certain shoes out there, that could be a bad thing.

Hope you had a good time anyway!

Ah, he's adorable now. Wait 'til you find out you got athlete's foot from him because he drank out of a runner's shoe the week before.
The shoe was a modest black pump. I believe that after the festivities, and when I was home once more, I was making the rounds of the dry cleaners, to see if they could remove the scent of fermented grapes from my shoe.
Flattering--but beyond gross. Plus, woe to the man who ruins any shoe of mine.

I wear flip flops :-)
I find that wonderfully romantic. I'd want to see him again...
